Grand Blanc Road Widening Fails to Protect Safety of over 5000 Residents

This summer’s major widening of Grand Blanc Road was designed without consideration of pedestrian and cycling access for over 3,000 residents to the Township’s only park.

On a cold Lion’s Game Sunday in January I circulated a petition in Thornridge Apartment complex and gathered 100 signatures to request a sidewalk, wider shoulders, and a barrier separated pedestrian walkway to the Bicentennial Park entrance. The response was overwhelming. “Yes! We’ve always needed that!”

I promised I would speak on their behalf at the Township Board Meeting and I did.

Township was not moved and the project is happening right now.
